The historical town of Swellendam is simultaneously quirky and exquisite, nestled just 240 kilometres from Cape Town in the Western Cape. There are 360-degree views that are nothing short of breath-taking, and these are the idyllic conditions in which the Swellendam Golf Course can be found.
The nine-hole course can be played as such or as an 18-hole one with a par of 72. It is situated right at the base of the Langeberg Mountain Range and the surrounding vistas include the farms, town and the gorgeous Hermitage Valley. The course itself is well maintained and has a permanent irrigation system that ensures optimal golfing conditions for both members and visitors.
The Swellendam Golf Course is open all year round, including on Mondays. There is an in-house pro shop as well as a resident pro on hand to assist players. The driving range is the ideal spot at which to practice your swing before a day on the fairways; and golf carts, trolleys, clubs and caddies are available for hire. No metal spikes are permitted and players are required to be smart-causal for their game. In addition to the golfing amenities, there is also a clubhouse and bar, with the added convenience of well-appointed function facilities.
