Houw Hoek Hotel is the oldest licensed hotel in South Africa and is located a leisurely 80 km from Cape Town. Relax alongside one of two refreshing swimming pools whilst taking in the tranquil setting. This grand old hotel offer all the comforts of home and outstanding service will ensure that you have an enjoyable stay.
Accommodation
We have 75 beautifully appointed rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. There are double rooms as well as family rooms. We also have rooms with inter-leading doors. Most rooms have private balconies with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. We offer hotel bouquet 20 channel DStv. There is a minibar and tea / coffee making facilities in every room and free Wi-Fi. Some of the rooms have a fireplace, some have underfloor heating and some have air-conditioning.
Facilities
Our restaurant serves à la carte or buffet breakfasts, relaxed lunches and delicious dinners every day. On Saturdays we host our famous Dinner Dance in the Barn. We have two games rooms for adults and for children. Join us for a drink at the Stagecoach Bar, the oldest licensed bar in South Africa. There are also many outdoor activities as well as two refreshing swimming pools. Our veranda and rolling lawns showcase breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains and ponds.
Dining
The restaurant at the Houw Hoek Hotel serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners daily. A full breakfast is included in the rates.
Attractions
At the Houw Hoek Hotel, you may want to simply put your feet up and relax. Alternatively we offer a variety of activities such as putt-putt, volley ball, boules and our two refreshing swimming pools.
