About Populierbos Cottage

Populierbos is located on the Bluebell farm, a mere two-hour drive from Cape Town, perfect for a weekend break away. We decided to share the joy and beauty of living on a farm with you. From starting the day with fresh coffee and beskuit (rusks) to concluding the night with a fire under the old oak tree.

Self Catering Accommodation

Populierbos offers self catering accommodation in Stanford for four guests.

The cottage has two bedrooms, both of which are furnished with a Queen-size bed and have extra blankets for cold nights. The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bath with a view, toilet and basin. The rooms have a wood burning fireplace to keep the winter chill at bay! Bathroom amenities and a hairdryer are provided.

The open plan cottage which is made up of a fully equipped kitchen and dining / living area is beautifully furnished and decorated. The comfortable lounge, with fireplace opens onto a spacious patio with views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

There is a built-in braai and a wood fired hot tub. A braai grid, utensils and potjie pot are provided as is a starter pack of wood, firelighters, a bag of ice, rusks, condiments and free milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

The cottage has free Wi-Fi and secure parking.

On Site Facilities

The main farmhouse has a swimming pool and a braai under the old oak tree.

Activities and Attractions

There is a lot to do in the area which makes the farm the perfect base for a weekend getaway. There is plenty of space to go for a hike or cycle on the farm and there is prolific bird life. Other attractions in the neighbouring areas include browsing at The Stanford Trading Store, sea kayaking at Walker Bay, paddle boarding in Hermanus or antique shopping at Robert Stanford Antiques.
