Nestled amongst its own vineyards in the heart of the Elgin Valley, Pumphouse Honeymoon Cottage provides the perfect excuse to escape the city. In addition to its superb wines, South Hill offers a great country gourmet restaurant and intimate guest house.

Under an hour's drive from Cape Town, you will find this a perfect setting for a romantic weekend getaway or even better: a quiet weekday break! No matter what time of year, you will be drawn in by the changing colours of the Valleys landscape.

Accommodation

The Pumphouse Honeymoon Cottage is set away from the main house where it overlooks the Shiraz vineyards.

The room is furnished with a King-size bed and the en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower, hand basins and WC.

It has a private courtyard with Jacuzzi, braai facilities, private jetty overlooking a farm dam and an indoor pot belly fire place for cooler evenings.

Facilities include a 15m pool, a boule court and alfresco dining options in the garden and patio, and a pizza oven.

Dining

Enjoy a meal at the on site restaurant, The Gallery Restaurant at South Hill where chef Damian Dearlove will delight you with his innovative bistro-style menu using locally sourced produce. The restaurant also caters for functions, celebrations, weddings or any other private or corporate event.

Activities

For the more adventurous, there are paths for walking, bird watching, mountain biking, quad biking or kayaking in the dam. Any enthusiastic photographer will delight in the flora and fauna and amazing sunsets.
