Olive Cottage @ Somerset Gift Farm offers comfortable accommodation in Swellendam. This breathtakingly beautiful farm is situated just outside the historical town of Swellendam in a lush green valley bordering the foothills of the majestic Langeberg Mountain.

Self Catering Accommodation

Olive Cottage @ Somerset Gift is an adorable, private holiday cottage in Swellendam sleeping four guests. The first room is furnished with a double bed and the second room is furnished with twin beds. There is one bathroom equipped with a shower, small sleigh bath, toilet and basin.

It has a cosy lounge and dining area with a large fireplace to keep you warm in winter. Olive cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. All linen and bath towels are supplied as well as kitchen and bathroom consumables, firewood, blitz, braai grid and tongs. Guests need to bring their own swimming towels.

There is a lovely all weather furnished patio with an undercover fireplace/braai. The cottage has beautiful views of the pastures and mountain with the river a short stroll in front of the cottage and it has an outside wood-fired hot-tub from where you can soak up the views.

Olive Cottage has uncapped Wi-Fi suitable for online banking and surfing the Net.

Pets

Pets are welcome with prior arrangement and will be charged a fee of R200 per pet.

Experience

The setting is simply idyllic, with stunning 5 star views of the mountain, green pastures where cattle and horses graze, a serene spring-fed lake, and the lovely Buffeljags River which runs the length of the farm. The farm has ownership rights to a few thousand hectares of pristine mountain ground with trails through indigenous forest and fynbos to magical mountain valleys, waterfalls and rock pools. This truly is a paradise for all.

The little cottage has everything you need to a peaceful farm break away. The meadows with cows and horses are delightful to watch in the morning from the sheltered balcony. The fireplace is massive and keeps the house remarkably warm. The hot tub was divine to. Lots for the children like swings, kayaks, playground and loads of open spaces to explore. All in all, a wonderful stay and I cannot wait to return.
