About The Barn at Old Mac Daddy
Around an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Old Mac Daddy remains one of the most unique and enchanting attractions in the Western Cape. Nestled within the beauty of the Elgin Valley, The Barn at Old Mac Daddy is an excellent choice for hungry travellers with an appetite for gorgeous views, sumptuous foods and something a little different.
The Barn Restaurant is committed to using fresh locally-sourced ingredients that celebrate the wholesomeness of free range and organic goodies wherever possible. In addition, The Barn is fully licensed, so guests can enjoy a delicious South African wine, a crisp craft beer, or a soothing whiskey with their delicious meals.
The cheese and charcuterie platters are always fantastic for those wanting to snack on a variety of flavoursome delights. The Barn is also known for its excellent variety of burgers (including a vegetarian burger and a Mexican burger) and wood-fired pizzas.
The Kentucky pizza is topped with chicken, cranberries, blue cheese and rocket; the Dokota is laden with salami, mozzarella cheese, basil, sundried tomatoes and olives; while the Nebraska has roast butternut and onion marmalade and is topped with feta and almonds. There are also a selection of salads and snack baskets from which to choose. Children have their own menu with delicious options that include funky fish goujons, baby daddy’s burger, and flying saucer pizzas. And, for early birds, there are hearty breakfasts on offer, best enjoyed with an excellent cup of coffee.
Meals at The Barn at Old Mac Daddy are about more than refuelling before heading out on the road again. This is an experience that is coupled with breath-taking scenery of the Elgin Valley and a menu with a difference.
