Southern Yurts Botanica Cabin is nestled in the scenic Diepklowe Nature Reserve, a mere 90-minute drive (100km) from Cape Town. This destination is perfect for a brief midweek getaway, a romantic retreat for two, or a serene escape into nature with your small family.

Self-Catering Accommodation

Located beside a picturesque riverine area within the conservancy, Botanica Cabin allows guests to enjoy the peacefulness of the natural surroundings and nearby forest. The cabin is enveloped by predominantly indigenous flora, providing a wellness-enhancing atmosphere both indoors and outdoors.

The cabin features a king-size bed and a bathroom equipped with a shower, toilet, and basin.

A fully equipped self-catering kitchen (with an indoor pizza oven!), dining space, and a lounge area with a daybed and seating ensure comfort.

The cabin accommodates two guests, with additional space for one adult on the daybed or two small children sharing. It comes with bedding, towels, spare blankets, a heater (seasonal), hot water bottles for cooler evenings, binoculars, wildlife and tree books, and other reading materials. Essentials such as soaps, dishwashing liquid, firewood, firelighters, salt, pepper, filter coffee, sugar, and tea are provided.

Enjoy panoramic views from a private vantage point and stargaze from your private wood-fired hot tub. Outdoors, you can use the large undercover braai lapa or the braai area next to your tub in the garden. This accommodation combines the joy of outdoor living with comfort and style.

Experiences

Southern Yurts is situated in Diepklowe Nature Reserve, which also hosts Porcupine Hills Guest Farm, an olive growing operation and nature conservancy. The farm offers various activities, including marked and mapped hiking trails, trail running, bird watching (with bird books and binoculars provided), and a small farm dam with a canoe and kayak.

Fishing (catch and release) is available at the farm dam, with fishing rods and gear available for rent by prior arrangement. For those wishing to explore the local area, activities such as wine tasting, zip lining, horse riding, and visiting farmer’s markets are all within a 30-minute drive.
