Newly Defined & African Pickers is the concept and passion of Glen Napier, who continues to be fuelled by his love for modern and retro antiques and collectibles. Lovingly dubbed “Emporium van Nostalgia”, this is a fantastic spot to explore and discover new and exciting finds, many of which are otherwise rather hard to come by.
Newly Defined is situated in Heidelberg, which is on the N2 and roughly halfway between Cape Town and Knysna in the Western Cape. Heidelberg has an undeniable air of character and charm, thanks to its history and to the friendly folk that live here. With this as its address, it is little wonder that Newly Defined is such a hit amongst those that appreciate quirky quality.
Newly Defined & African Pickers is all about lifestyle and design; which is accomplished through both antiques and collectibles, and bespoke pieces that are sure to impress. The showroom occupies a space of no less than 800 square metres, giving visitors plenty of room to amble around and see the collection of fun, quirky, interesting and must-have pieces on display.
This emporium was established in 2011 and has, since then, been actively involved in redefining style, modern design and everything beautiful. Locals love it, and it is fast becoming a favoured spot for travellers that are passing through and looking to see a different side to the modern South Africa.
Thanks to its convenient locale along the N2, Heidelberg is easy to find, and within convenient distances from other major tourists attractions in South Africa. The Cape Town International Airport is less than 300 kilometres away, as are the Cape Winelands, Table Mountain and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are both very popular seaside holiday towns that boast breath-taking views of the ocean, coupled with plenty of excellent restaurants and shopping opportunities.
