Eagles Cliff

In the middle of the Breede River Valley between Worcester and Villiersdorp is the Eagle’s Cliff Cellar. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and vineyards and to observe the dramatic ‘tombstone’ formations which the Karoo rock has assumed.

Wine exporter and wine maker, Christiaan Groenewald, found the New Cape Wines company in 2002. Their wines are bottled under the following labels: Eagle's Cliff range, Eagle's Cliff Reserve range, Dwyka Hills range and the Arendskloof range. The company exports wines in bulk to Europe. Their wine label finds inspirational from the rare black eagles that have made their nest in the mountain cliffs above the vineyards. They offer Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz Rosé, Pinotage Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot, Reserve Shiraz, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Dwyka Hills, Shiraz and Arendskloof Syrah Tannat. This is a wine estate to visit for more than just their wines and also marvel at nature.

To view more wine estates in the region see Worcester Wine Estates or see South Africa Wine Estates for a general overview and links to other wine producing regions.
