About Wederom Wine Farm
It is not often that a South African wine cellar has an Italian connection, but Wederom has never claimed to follow the norm. The fourth generation of Du Toits maintains strong traditional ties to their original vision and wine-producing customs.
Wederom only produces two wines – Shiraz and Salvadori. However, these are handcrafted with a love and commitment that permeates it to the last drop.
In the Second World War, Italian prisoners were sent to South Africa to work as labourers on the farms. Nanni and Giovanni built their own little barn on the Wderom farm, and left behind hand-drawn illustrations on the wall. These were restored and the barn is now a historical museum as well as the site of the wine tastings. This Italian connection has never been forgotten, and its integrity has been maintained to our modern day.
Visitors to Wederom have a host of options when it comes to things to do. These include wine tastings, fishing, hiking, birding, swimming (in the pool or dam), golfing or going on a river cruise down the Breede River.
