About Rooiberg Winery
Being hidden in the magnificence of the Breede River Valley makes the Rooiberg Winery a picturesque retreat for the wine-lovers of the world. The Langeberg Mountain Range looms over it, while the Breede River flows by with a quiet strength, inviting visitors to swim, fish or simply enjoy the landscape on its banks.
Recognising the important effect that a healthy ecosystem has on the quality of the wines produced, Rooiberg Winery is run with a distinct focus on maintaining the health of the environment. Rooiberg was the first wine producer in the area and the first co-op in South Africa to achieve its membership status with the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, which is aimed at sustainable wine production.
Rooiberg’s products include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, different Muscat varieties, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
The perfect setting in which to sample these wines, Rooiberg is equipped with an inviting cellar. There is also a restaurant (Bodega de Vinho) as well as a farm stall that is just brimming with homemade delights, local crafts, mementoes and gifts.
