About Koningsrivier Wines
Stretching along the Langeberg Mountain Range you can find one of the worlds and indeed Southern Africa’s premiere wine-making regions, Robertson. The valley lies between two mountain ranges that snake their paths out over the luscious landscape and has some of the most incredible fertile terroir beneath its superficial arid exterior.
The name of the vineyard - Koningsrivier translates from the Afrikaans into Kings River and was established in 1886 by the Colyn Family and five generations later the estate is still being passionately run by them. Robertson’s unique climatic challenges have resulted in the Colyn Family opting for smaller yields so that greater care and quality can be expressed by the berries which are rich in flavour. The Colyn’s are committed to producing wines that have large personalities, and noble character.
Cultivars available are Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and a Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
