About Route 62 Restaurant and Farm Stall
The Route 62 Restaurant and Farm Stall is, perhaps, better known as Die Kloof Padstal (which translates to The Ravine Road Stall), and is conveniently perched at the entrance to Montagu. With this ideal positioning, it is a popular stop for those travelling through the Western Cape and Karoo.
Route 62 Restaurant has gained much respect for its reasonably-priced meals that are delicious and of a good quality. Some recommended favourites include the Peri-Peri chicken livers, lamb curry, savoury pancakes and the Dutch apple tart. Hearty breakfasts are served all day long. On a Sunday, a traditionally generous South African meal is served. There is a children’s menu, as well as bowls of fresh water all over the property for families that have brought their pets along.
The farm stall showcases Montagu and the Karoo to visitors by stocking a range of things that represent the area. There is a playground for little ones.
