With an impressive 700 hectares under vine, the exquisite Montagu Coöperative Cellar produces about 13 000 tons of top-notch wines every year. These wines include a combination of whites, reds, rosés and fortified (or dessert) wines. When the cellar was first established in 1945, it became renowned for its Muscadel, which is a sweet after-dinner wine. Montagu’s Red Muscadel has won many awards and continues to be a firm favourite. Still, its red and white wines have also won a number of awards for being superior in their own rights.
