Zorgvliet Vineyard Lodge and Spa is an historic farm dating back to 1692 and was first owned by Casper Wilders. When Peter Rhymer took over ownership, he converted it from a fruit farm and developed it dramatically.
Entrepreneur Mac van der Merwe acquired Zorgvliet at an auction in 2002. The original Manor House was completely restored and renovated and is now the home of Zorgvlietís wine tasting room. South African artist Robert Koch has portrayed Zorgvliet house and the Banhoek Valley in a series of commissioned paintings.
The Zorgvliet tier is their premium range offering single vineyard wines headed by their Zorgvliet Richelle Bordeaux blend. Itís a selection of the estates 10 best barrels of each vintage. The Silver Myn range has more traditional varieties coupled with non-traditional varieties. This range includes anything from Sauvignon Blanc to Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon to Malbec.
The estate situated along the Helshoogte Pass near Stellenbosch, is a perfect place to take the family to picnic. Choose the picnic of your choice from the picnic basket menu and relax under the oak trees.
Children can play on the jungle gym whilst the parents sample the various wines. Go on a cellar tour, vineyard walk, stay overnight in their luxury accommodation in Stellenbosch and indulge at the spa.
