Mont Rochelle is a stunning hotel and vineyard just under an hour's drive from Cape Town in the town of Franschhoek in South Africa. Franschhoek is a traditional vineyard town in the Western Cape Province famously known as the French Corner of the Cape and is considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa.
Accommodation
Mont Rochelle is open year-round for visitors, and our rooms and suites can be booked for any length of stay. Staying in these rooms includes a fully stocked mini bar with drinks and snacks, Wi-Fi, transfers into Franschoek and one complimentary wine tasting.
Our bar is perfect for pre or post-dinner drinks as well as light bites throughout the day. The bar is also open for an afternoon coffee or just for something refreshing on those hot days. There's also a handy terrace so you can soak up the sun. Take a dip and relax in the main outdoor heated swimming pool at Mont Rochelle - there are some fantastic views of the Franschhoek mountains. Bar service and fresh towels are available around the pool.
What could be more relaxing than a spa treatment during your stay? Mont Rochelle has two dedicated spa treatment rooms as well as a Hammam. We use the eco-friendly Africology ‘Authentic' range of products which are made from 100% essential oils and natural plant extracts. Resident guests are welcome to make use of the Hammam at their leisure as long as it's not in use for a scheduled treatment.

Breakfast and Dining
Breakfast is included in the rates and served daily at Miko restaurant. There are two restaurant options onsite for lunches and dinners. Country Kitchen is opened for lunch and a short drive from the main hotel. Our casual dining restaurant is an ideal spot to take in the sunshine and views from our terrace while sampling the delights of our kitchen.
Miko is the ideal setting for some fantastic gourmet meals including those for special occasions. We aim to showcase the very best produce and seasonal ingredients from South Africa paired with some excellent wine. There is a wide range of restaurants in the area so please ask a member of our team for a recommendation.
The Area
Franschhoek is a traditional vineyard town in the Western Cape Province considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa. Franschhoek, which in the Afrikaans language means ‘French corner', was as the name suggests once a French enclave when over 300 years ago a group of Huguenot settlers arrived fleeing religious persecution. That influence, which nestled right alongside the larger Dutch-speaking community, is what gives the region such a rich and varied history, and unsurprisingly, a taste for fine food and wine.
