About Monument House

Nestled behind the famous Huguenot Monument, a mere five minute walk from Franschhoek High-street, Monument House is settled over 4 acres of manicured gardens and indigenous meadows. Newly developed by international designer Wendy Smith, this estate offers 5 unique luxury experiences.

Accommodation

Monument House estate has five accommodation options and features a spectacular solar heated pool and jacuzzi and a natural pond. Monument House prides itself in combining luxury and exclusivity with ecologically sound practices.

Monument House comprises of a Main House, two cottages and two suites that may be rented exclusively or independently from each other, sleeping 18 guests in total. Please see the individual room descriptions with photographs below, to assist you with your choice.

Additional Estate Facilities

There is a solar heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a natural pond. High speed Wi-Fi, secure parking, security cameras and beams are monitored for peace of mind. At least 85% of our energy is produced by solar power, ensuring continuous power during load shedding.

Attractions

The Culinary Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek has a high Street that that boasts many of the finest restaurants in the country, numerous galleries and boutiques. A perfect base for those wishing to explore the area on foot and in which to experience the "Grand Tour " that only the Franschhoek Valley can provide.

For the wine aficionado there are ever 40 vineyards in this region, ranging from regal and rustic through to branded and boutique, one as beautiful as the next, all of which produce astonishingly good wine. Franschhoek Wine Tram allows an ease of access for those not in the mood to drive. 65km from Cape Town airport it is conveniently situated for the international traveler. Nearby Mont Rochelle Nature reserve and the abundant countryside ensure the best hiking trails, golf and mountain biking experience.
