About Longridge Winery

Perched against the Cape Helderberg’s slopes, is a wine estate with breathtaking views over False Bay and the Stellenbosch Valley.

Longridge was first registered in 1841 and wine was first produced on the farm years later in 1992 when the farm was officially named. Only oak barrels are used in this modern cellar and guests will be delighted by the tranquility and taste that can be found here.

Taste their premium wines Cap Classique - Brut 2008, Sauvignon Blanc 2009 + 2010, Chardonnay 2008 + 2009, Chenin Blanc 2009 + 2010, Merlot 2007 + 2008, Pinotage 2007 + 2008, Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 + 2008, Shiraz 2007 + 2008 and Cabernet Franc 2007. Their Chenin Blanc block is over 30 years old with a single vineyard status and has low yielding vines which have resulted in rich, concentrated wines.

You can order picnic baskets and cheese platters or bring your own and relax on the estate. The delicious cheese platters are perfect with wines and come with blue cheese, mature cheddar, goat’s milk, brie and camembert cheeses served with biscuits, nuts, olives, green figs and tomato / chilli preserve. The estate hosts a monthly ‘Meet the Winemaker’s event where winemaker Jasper Raats and Chef Bruce von Pressentin pair great wines with gourmet foods from the restaurant.
