About Peter Falke Wines

The Falke family has been doing business in South Africa since 1969. German born, Franz-Peter Falke’s dream to own a farm came true when he acquired Groenvlei in 1995. The first Peter Falke wine, the Signature Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 2003.

This estate may have Cape Dutch architecture but there is nothing rustic about it. This is one stylish wine estate with a German French fusion. Peter’s Parisian wife and interior designer, Daničle Görtz, brings her French flair to the farm. The reception and lamps may remind you of a barrel and all the furniture was source in Germany. Artist Strijdom van der Merwe is the artist responsible for the huge bottle openers stuck into the lawn.

Experience their two diverse ranges. The informal PF range includes a Sauvignon Blanc and soon to be released Chardonnay, Blanc de Noir, Pinot Noir, Ruby Blend and a Cabernet Sauvignon and perfect easy drinking wines. The signature Peter Falke range is for those who know their wine and includes the award-winning Syrah, Exclusive Blend, MCC & the newly released Muscat d’ Alexandrie.

Wine maker Werner Schrenk capture the essence of the terroir by shifting the emphasis from wine making to wine growing. Once the hand-selected grapes reache the cellar the true inner character is released in a traditional way combined with modern technics, through the application of natural and minimalistic processes. Visit for wine tasting or sundowners and enjoy a light meal from our small menu consisting of cheese or charcuterie platters, nachos and European-style salads. (Menu subject to change and seasonal availability)
