Breakfast starts early, and delights the tastebuds as the sea laps onto the shore in the background. Lunch is only served between 12:00 and 13:00, and dinner is the piece de resistance, with heavenly starters such as the Seafood Soup, with sauce rouille, gruyere cheese and croutons; Home Smoked Salmon and the Fresh West Coast Mussels steamed in beer.
Mains comprise of a few classics with a modern twist and South African influenced cuisine. The Ravioli of Prawn and Creamed Leeks sound tempting, while the Pan-roasted Mossel Bay sole, had us salivating. Lobster Thermidore is sublime, while linefish is spiced with Tandoori and served with lentil dahl, cucumber raita and grape tomato sambals. Known as the ‘Collection Signatures’, we stumbled upon heaven-sent Seared Sirloin Steak, served with hand cut chips, sauce bearnaise and caesar salad and Outeniqua Springbok Loin with garlic purée fondant potato, seasonal fruit chutney, local mushrooms and jus.
Tantalise your tastebuds a little longer with Traditional Malva Pudding or the Caramelised Lemon Tart, and linger longer with an espresso, taking in the beauty of the ocean.
