The Lindsay Castle in Southern Africa is perfect for your dream holiday. The Castle will impress you with its rustic atmosphere. The castle is on the edge of Noetzie beach in the town of Knysna, known for its forests and wild elephants. A special highlight is the Eco-Trail, a nature trail leading through the now-protected Sinclair nature reserve.

Lindsay Castle is a self catering holiday home with six bedrooms. The six bedrooms with stunning views over the Indian Ocean offer enough space for 12 people and have six bathrooms.

Three bedrooms are in the main building of the castle and the remaining three are separately in the right part of the castle. The simple but very cozy interior gives the castle its heat, according to the motto “Hard shell, soft core”. The luxurious bathrooms with free-standing bathtubs invite you to a relaxing bath with views over the sea.
The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave and a large dining table with stools. The main entrance opens into a large lounge / TV relaxing area with open fire. Wi-Fi is also available. The spacious dining area is perfect for cooking evenings.
Escape everyday stress with the help of the beautifully decorated living room with an open fireplace. Enjoy the sunshine at the landscaped gardens or the directly adjacent beach.
There is a braai area (charcoal / wood) to the West on the sea-side and a sheltered eating area complete with table and benches. There are two sun loungers and two sun seats all with cushions.
Access to Linday Castle is very challenging to elderly and disabled guests, it has very steep steps down to the Castle.

Area Information
Noetzie is a hamlet - some people describe it simply as a beach - just east of the Garden Route town of Knysna. The Khoi people, who lived here, called it Noetziekamma – referring to the darkness of the waters of the Noetzie River, into which tannins of the surrounding Knysna forests leach.

We loved staying at the castle. We loved the location and the general feel of the place. I think that it would benefit from better lighting inside the living areas and from showers in each of the bathrooms. I also think that a better information booklet on the facilities inside the castle itself and the surrounding nature reserve and wildlife as well as the walks available and history of the castle and beach would enhance a visit.
