Masescha Birdsong House offers accommodation in Harkerville, only 10 minutes drive from Plettenberg Bay and 15 minutes drive from Knysna. Here in the heart of the Garden Route we are a convenient base to explore the many tourist attractions.

Self Catering Accommodation

Masescha Birdsong House is an old traditional farmhouse which has some low beams.

There are three bedrooms on the ground floor. The Master Bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed and a sleeper couch, safety deposit box, hairdryer and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a large walk-in shower, basin and toilet. There is a small step up to bedroom two furnished with another Queen-size bed. Bedroom three is furnished with a single bed. Both these rooms make use of a bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

A short steep staircase leads upstairs from the lounge to bedrooms four and five both furnished with two single beds each and sharing a third shower room with a separate guest toilet in between.

The front entrance of the house leads straight into the fully equipped kitchen with gas oven and 4 burner gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, iron/ironing board etc.

From the kitchen step down into the open-plan lounge and dining area with a flat-screen TV with DStv, a DVD player and cosy open fireplace.

Outside is a large furnished ‘L’ shaped patio entertainment area consisting of a brick paved terrace overlooking the valley and forest where the Black Headed Oriole is a regular visitor. The patio extends to a partially covered dining area outside the kitchen/front entrance next to its own brick built braai (barbecue) facility.

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available as is safe and secure parking.

Dining

For those lazy days you can choose to enjoy a scrumptious full English breakfast on our main deck terrace overlooking the views (weather permitting) and a home cooked set menu dinner or light snacks are also available (served either to your room or on our main deck with fabulous views of the forest). Catering options are available on request and can be booked once you have confirmed the accommodation.
