About Lorelei Guest House

Lorelei Guest House is a Karoo-style farmhouse that offers accommodation in the middle of George. Its title deed goes all the way back to 1835 and that makes Lorelei one of the oldest houses in George. Today it is a modern contemporary house that is rooted in the simplicity of yesteryear. It is centrally located and within walking distance of many amenities, shops and schools.

Self Catering Accommodation

Lorelei Guest House is a self catering holiday home that sleeps six guests. There are three double bedrooms, two with Queen-size beds and one with two single beds. There are two bathrooms with a shower, toilet and basin, of which one is en-suite.

The living area is furnished as a home-from-home. Your fully equipped kitchen contains a fridge, microwave, stove, oven and dishwasher and is complimented by a delightful veranda with built in braai and prep area.

The lounge has comfortable furniture and TV with DStv. Free Wi-Fi is also available. Log in, turn on and relax. Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you should be disconnected. Housekeeping is available by prior arrangement. There is garage and off street parking behind a secure fence.

Our garden is fully fenced and access is via an electronic gate. Feel free to experience the urban farm garden. When in season there are vegetables and salads and daily fresh eggs from our hens. You are welcome to help yourself or ask your host who will gladly assist. Our hens too work hard throughout the year by picking the weeds and grubs from the garden. In return they bless us with the freshest eggs daily - try them!

Area Information

George is the sixth oldest town in South Africa, situated in the stunning Western Cape Province and is referred to as the Capital of the Southern Cape. Walk to the local coffee shop for a latté or fresh bread and wine from Spar. Van Rensburg Meats and Lancewood are trusted names in local produce. Should you feel like dining out then be sure to visit any of a host of restaurants in the area, including The Fat Fish, La Capanina, The Hassar Grill, Roco Mama's, Café Sarafe, also Spur and Panarotti's to name a few.
