Just 10 minutes from Plettenberg Bay, 1000 miles from reality, Moon Shine lies in the very heart of The Garden Route and all its attractions. Encompassing 14 hectares of unspoiled indigenous forest, Moon Shine is a small and enchanting venue created with minimum impact on the environment.

Experience the forest from the comfort of your stunningly hand crafted wooden cabin nestled among the trees, or spend time taking in the gorgeous view from the sun drenched veranda of the quirky garden cottage.

Accommodation

All cabins are fully equipped for self catering, bring only what you need to eat and drink and beach towels. All cabins have their own braai facilities and parking. Some units have flatscreen TV's with select DStv and all units have FREE Wi-Fi. Smoking is restricted to outdoors; cigarette butts on the ground are considered litter.

Facilities

Whilst we have no restaurant on the premises we do offer a small menu of pre-cooked frozen meals and breakfast items. These are delivered to you cabin for you to heat and enjoy. Cabins are serviced every 5th day of stay, before you arrive and after you leave.

Eco Friendly

We are very proud of the Five Green Hearts awarded to us for our efforts to protect and conserve the environment by implementing the following practices: Recycling, Water Wise Practices, Sustainable Energy Acumen, Eco Architecture and Conservation. Moon Shine on Whiskey Creek also supports local Animal Welfare Services through donations to their charity shop to assist with their fund raising efforts.

• Recycling: Guests separate their waste and all recyclables are collected.
• Water Wise Practices: All water used at Moon Shine is rain water which is harvested from all roof surfaces, stored and in most cases gravity fed back to the cottages. Current storage capacity is at 150 000 liters.
• Sustainable Energy Acumen: Mindfulness in energy consumption which is kept to a minimum through use of low energy lighting and intelligent design.
• Eco Architecture: Harmonious designs utilizing natural lighting, air flow and insulation using sustainably grown pine.
• Conservation: As custodians over breathtaking indigenous forest the owners take care to conserve their land and quickly eradicate any alien species that may take root. Guests are educated on the area`s natural environment and the responsible way in which to interact with it.

What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. Lots of light, with bold colours and small details, the cabin has everything two people might need to escape the crazy world for a while. There is a one of a kind Queen-size tent-like bed with a drop away sash window; a private mosaic and glass shower with a view on the deck and an en-suite bathroom with toilet and basin. There is a cosy fire place inside and braai area outside. A very private space, beautifully hand crafted with a creative twist. There is no TV, but the cabin does have FREE Wi-Fi.

Enjoyed the little tree house so much!!! It has everything you need!! The fireplace made it snuggly in the evenings and the big window at the bed made you feel part of nature in the mornings. A great way to just switch off from the city’s rat race
