About Fairy Knowe Hotel
Situated on the banks of the scenic Touw River and the Wilderness National Park, the Fairy Knowe Hotel has been a loved and cherished holiday destination for years. Surrounded by lush gardens with beautiful riverside accommodation, the hotel is only 20 minutes drive from the airport at George, and central to all tourist attractions.
This magical destination is a birders paradise with 280 species where the Knysna Loerie is a daily visitor. Here you enjoy direct access to one of the 18 remaining indigenous forests in the world either by nature trail or river. The vegetation can be seen in its natural environment where trees are marked for easy identification. There is also an 800 year old Yellowwood Big Tree nearby. We also have an Indigenous Tree Trail on the hotel property.

Activities and Attractions
We offer lots of fun activities for the whole family - enjoy canoe or boat rides, hiking trails, bicycles rides, swimming, a game of tennis or a walk to the bird hide located next to our premises.
Step out of your riverside room where you can enjoy freshwater fishing on your doorstep. Nearby there are world class golf courses, also squash, bowls and paragliding. Opportunities also exist for seasonal land based whale watching.
Excellent viewpoints are Map of Africa with breathtaking scenery of forests, lakes, mountains and coastline and Dolphin's Point, an excellent vantage point from which to study whales and dolphins. Kaaimans River Bridge is a much favoured spot for photography.
Wilderness
Wilderness is renowned for its vast stretches of beach, it peace and tranquility and the absence for windswept headlands and wild stormy seas. The long stretch of beach embraces the mouths of the Touw and Kaaimans Rivers, and is backed by northward cliffs over which the fringe of the forest reaches down to sea level.

The view is excellent. The evening we sit in front of the fire and had a lovely supper, the barman service was excellent and the buffet breakfast was also excellent. The only downfall was that I feel the rooms need some "update".
