About Wilderness Metanoia
Wilderness Metanoia is a 16-hectare private estate offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by the natural beauty of the Outeniqua Mountains and indigenous forest. The tranquil setting invites guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the restorative qualities of the wilderness. The surrounding forest supports almost 200 bird species and is home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, baboons, bushbuck, porcupines and bush pigs. More elusive residents include caracals, leopards and otters.
Accommodation
Wilderness Metanoia offers a selection of comfortable, well-equipped self-catering chalets and apartments, each with a private patio overlooking the gardens and surrounding natural landscape. All units have a bathroom fitted with a bath and shower, as well as towels for guests' convenience.

On Site Facilities
Guests can make use of the swimming pool and tennis court or explore the estate's elevated wooden walkways, which offer impressive views across the indigenous forest. A private walking trail winds through the woodland and follows the banks of the nearby Silver River, providing an opportunity to experience the area's rich birdlife and natural surroundings.
Birdwatchers may spot the colourful Knysna turaco, one of five kingfisher species found in the area, or other local favourites such as the red-billed wood hoopoe, Knysna woodpecker, African paradise flycatcher and lesser double-collared sunbird. The river's natural pools also offer inviting spots for a refreshing swim.
