Wine-tasting from a tram? We couldn’t think of a better idea! The Franschhoek Wine Tram offers a hop-on, hop-off tour of the Franschhoek Wine Valley; the vineyards, beautiful scenery, world-class restaurants and all the wine farms your heart could desire - all safely from a tram-bus.

The tram is open-sided and open-air, which takes a maximum of 25 passengers to some of the oldest and most distinguished wine estates in Franschhoek.

A combination of tram and tram-bus transports passengers around a loop of stops, allowing them to hop-off at each stop and experience what is on offer; whether it be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or a walk through picturesque vineyards.

The tour includes two complimentary tastings on the route at specific wineries (Blue Line: La Couronne, Holden Manz, La Bourgogne)(Red Line: Maison, Eikehof(welcome taste), Dieu Donne) as well as various discounts at the remaining wineries

Blue Line:
• Complimentary Taste at La Couronne
• Complimentary Taste at Holden Manz
• Complimentary Taste at La Bourgogne
• La Bri gives 10% discount on wine purchases (Closed on Sundays)
• Rickety Bridge gives half off standard wine tasting credited against any wine, cheese platter or meal purchase

The tours works as follows: You book a departure time for one of the tours and once you get onto the tour it is hop on – hop off at the various wine estates on your chosen route in intervals of 1 hour each. Please note that once you get off at a wine estate it will be 1hour before the next bus/tram will arrive for pick up, you are more than welcome to stay for an additional hour(s) at any of the wineries, this will just mean you need to miss another winery. If passengers wish to dine at one of the restaurants on the tour it is advisable to make lunch reservations at least 24 hours in advance directly with the wine estate.

Starting point - The tour starts from our ticket office on 32 Huguenot Road, Franschhoek Square. Please note you must arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your departure time. Arriving late will mean that you forfeit your tickets. You would only be able to visit 3 – 4 wine estates on a day, depending on your planning.
