Noted for its magnificent scenery and beautiful camp, Lotheni Nature Reserve is situated in a remote section of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park.
Many delightful walking trails are available to suit all ages.
For spectacular views of the Drakensberg, the Emadundwini Trail, an 11.8 km circular route crossing a number of small streams and traveling up a steep incline is recommended. Other trails such as the Eagle, Falls, Canyon, Jacobs Ladder and the historically interesting Gelib Tree are also very rewarding.
A stretch of 16 kilometres of the Lotheni river is available for fly fishermen and stocked with brown trout. Although chilly, swimming in the Lotheni river is safe unless it is in flood and there is a very good swimming spot approximately 1km below the camp.
With 20 National Parks, including two of the world's most famous wildlife reserves, the Kruger National Park and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and numerous private game reserves, your trip to South Africa would be incomplete without experiencing a South African Safari.
