Drakenzicht Mountain Cottage offers accommodation for up to eight guests in Winterton in the Central Drakensberg with a magnificent view of the Drakensberg mountains. The house is perfectly positioned for exploring the various hiking routes of the Central Drakensberg as well as golf courses, and horse riding. It is a place of complete relaxation and tranquility.

Self Catering Accommodation

Drakenzicht Mountain Cottage is a self catering holiday home with three double bedrooms and a fourth smaller bedroom off the veranda. This room is suitable for two children as it has double bunks. The main bedroom is en-suite with a double vanity and the second bathroom is shared. Both bathrooms each have a bath and a shower.

The kitchen is modern and fully fitted with an oven, stove, microwave, two fridges, coffee maker and washing machine. The open plan living area has a dining table and the lounge has comfortable furniture with a TV and DStv can be activated on request.

Outside is a large, tiled, undercover entertainment area with an eight seater table and braai facilities. This area boasts "the best view in South Africa" according to the owner.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful, sunny garden with benches from which to admire the views. Children can play on the trampoline and swing while enjoying a picnic.

The enchanted Champagne Valley draws visitors away from city stresses to escape to a place of rare beauty that manages to remain almost entirely unaffected by development. The town of Winterton marks the entrance to Champagne Valley, which is said to have received its name from the first climber's need to celebrate at the peak with a bottle of champagne, only to drop it before he could commemorate his notable achievement.
