With the Umzimkulwana river and a lake full of wild-spawning rainbow and brown trout, Giants Cup Wilderness sets the standard for authentic wilderness angling in spectacular mountain scenery. Self Catering Accommodation

Lakeside Lodge at Giants Cup is a self catering holiday home in Underberg that consists of two bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms.

The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a jacuzzi bath, toilet and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with two double beds and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

There is a comfortable lounge area with a fireplace, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen for your self catering stay.

Location and Access

The reserve is situated just outside Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg at the end of a 2,5km stretch of rough road, low vehicles are not advised.

We have some unbelievable hikes straight from your doorstep when staying with us. It doesn’t matter if you are a hiking newcomer or an experienced hiker, we have something for everyone. Enjoy a short trail around our lake or a long day up to the escapement, the best part about it is you will likely not see another person and the views are breathtaking!

Where else can you fly-fish for wild spawning fish of up to 10.5 pounds, while surrounded by herds of grazing eland and mountain reedbuck, and with lammergeyer (bearded vulture) or black eagle circling overhead? The lake & Umzimkulwana river, which flows through it, comprise an open, naturally self-sustaining fishery.
