Ambleside Cottage rests at the base of the magnificent Southern Drakensberg Mountains, embraced by leafy trees and winding streams. This tranquil mountain escape lies only three hours from Durban, occupying a prime position on a sprawling ten-acre estate with sweeping views of both Rhino Peak and Castle End.

Self Catering Accommodation

Ambleside Cottage is a charming thatched retreat with a warm country character and a storybook appeal. It accommodates up to eight guests across four inviting bedrooms. The first bedroom features a king-size bed, the second and third each offer two single beds, and the fourth is furnished with a queen-size bed. There is one en-suite bathroom as well as a shared family bathroom.

The heart of the cottage is an open-plan kitchen, dining area, and lounge. Guests are provided with all linen and bath towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas and electric stove, an oven, a dishwasher, and ample storage space. From here, the space flows into the dining area and then into a welcoming lounge complete with a cosy fireplace, perfect for cool mountain evenings.

Guests can explore the estate along meandering paths that lead to crystal-clear mountain pools and ancient bushman caves, offering an authentic taste of the Drakensberg’s natural wonders.
