Champagne Haven consists of a privately owned luxury chalet in the Mount Champagne Resort in the Central Drakensberg, KwaZulu Natal.

Accommodation

No. 6 Mount Champagne is a spacious chalet accommodating up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms, making it well suited to families or groups travelling together.

The main bedroom features a king-size bed and a full en-suite bathroom with both a bath and shower. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and shares a shower bathroom with the mezzanine floor. Downstairs, the two additional bedrooms are each furnished with either two three-quarter beds or two single beds, and share a full bathroom equipped with a bath and separate shower.

An inviting open-plan living area provides a relaxed space for guests to gather, with leather seating, a TV with DStv channels and a dining table. The well-appointed kitchen forms part of the open-plan layout and is complemented by a separate scullery. Facilities include a gas stove, fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, while cutlery and crockery are provided for convenient self-catering.

Solar power and an inverter ensure that the chalet remains unaffected by load shedding. A particularly attractive feature is the magnificent bay window, which frames spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

On Site Facilities

Mount Champagne Resort offers a range of facilities and outdoor activities for guests to enjoy, including a picturesque on-site dam where fishing and canoeing are available. The resort also has a tennis and pickleball court, swimming pool, trampoline and children's playground with a jungle gym.

Guests can enjoy horse riding at the resort, while the surrounding area provides numerous scenic hiking opportunities. Those looking for more demanding trails can explore the Monks Cowl area, which is a short drive from the resort. Mountain bikers are also well catered for, with exciting trails available nearby, making Mount Champagne an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Golfers have two golf courses to choose from, both located within approximately 7 minutes of the resort.

A pleasant five minute stroll along a beautiful tree lined avenue brings you to a well stocked shop, "The Oaks" for necessary supplies as well as an amazing array of gifts and souvenirs.

For a memorable experience there is a daily falcon display which takes place adjacent to the resort. Watch these stealthy birds of prey as they soar to astronomical heights and swoop down in front of the audience to “hunt” their prey.

Within a ten minute drive of the chalets there are many fascinating stops including a candle and rug factory, a world famous pottery manufacturer and the valley's very own and popular “Valley Bakery.” - definitely no time to be on diet!
