Yzerfontein is a tranquil sea-side village, 80km north of Cape Town on the R27 and marks the start of the beautiful Cape West Coast.
Yzerfontein offers unspoilt coastline with both rocky and sandy beaches including the famous sixteen mile beach which stretches all the way to Postberg Nature Reserve within the West Coast National Park.

Yzerfontein offers plenty for the nature lover, with long walks along the beach to view whales, coastal birds and flora, fields of wild flowers during spring and visits to the West Coast National Park. Wildlife you can expect to see in the reserves around Yzerfontein include amongst others the eland, bontebok, springbok, steenbok, kudu, duiker, Cape mountain zebra, caracal, african wild cat and bat eared fox.
