Dwarskersbos is a quiet place, 10 minutes or so north of Velddrif, where you will find most necessities. Superspar and OK Foods, Pharmacy Doctors, etc. The fishing harbour in Laaiplek is a photographer's dream. A walk down Bokkom Lane in Velddrif is always enchanting.

Dwarskersbos is often used by guests as a base for exploring the West Coast;- Elandsbay, Redelinghuys, Veldrif, Laaiplek, St Helena Bay, and Paternoster. Rocherpan Nature and Bird sanctuary is located mere minutes north. A variety of restaurants/pubs/takeaway places are located within Velddrift/Laaiplek catering for every taste/budget further afield;- Paternoster is home to some of SA's best-known Chefs - book in advance.
