Lamberts Bay

Lamberts Bay is a laid back fishing village on the West Coast, around 2.5 hours' drive from Cape Town. It has been titled the ‘Diamond of the West Coast' for its beautiful white beaches, diverse wildlife and crayfish.

Characterised by powdery sand, crashing waves, rolling dunes, a bird breeding island and a moderate year round climate, Lamberts is a favourite destination no matter the season. Situated in the heart of crayfish country, Lamberts Bay is one of the best places to get seafood, with fresh catches brought in daily. Muisbosskerm and Bosduifklip are both open air restaurants with some of the tastiest seafood around.

Just 100m offshore, the renowned Bird Island is accessed by a breakwater wall from the mainland and is home to a breeding colony of sea birds. At nearly three hectares, the island hosts Cape gannets, cormorants, African penguins, and Cape fur seals.

Lamberts Bay is one of the best places to spot dolphins. The Heaviside's Dolphin is endemic to this part of the coast and can be spotted as close as 150m from the shore in groups of up to 20 dolphins at a time. Organised boat trips include dolphin and whale watching between August and November.
