About Mulderbosch Vineyards

When Larry Jacobs first bought the Mulderbosch farm in 1989 it was called ‘vuilplasie’ meaning ‘dirty little farm in Afrikaans. Positioned in the Stellenbosch Hills, it has garnered a reputation of fine wines. Winemaker Mike Dobrovic joined Larry, they cleared the property and began planting the first vineyards. They built a cellar and Mike created the first wines of Mulderbosch; Sauvignon Blanc, Blanc Fumé and a Chardonnay.

It takes long before their wines received many International orders including many awards. Hydro Holdings bought the farm from Larry in 1996, whilst Mike stayed on as winemaker. Ben Truter took over Mulderbosch and the sister winery of Kanu in 2010, whilst Richard Kershaw, Annalie Dyk and Alexandra McFarlane became the team of cellar master and assistant winemakers ensuring the great quality lives on.

Visit the vineyard and sample some of their Chardonnay barrel fermented, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Noble Late Harvest, Cabernet Sauvignon Rose, Faithful Hound, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc Steen op Houd. The estate continually strives to preserve their natural heritage and biodiversity and uses environmentally responsible practices whilst farming.
