About Kanu Private Cellar and Vineyards

On the farm of Goedgeloof, the name Kanu came about thanks to a senior farm worker who shares a story of a mythical bird of promise. If you ever fell beneath the shadow of this bird, it was said that you would be blessed with an abundant harvest. Goedgeloof was purchased in 1997 by Hydro Holding.

It was the second farm other than Mulderbosch Vineyards which they had acquired. In 2003, Richard Kershaw joined as cellar master and the estate continues to produce award-winning Chenin Blanc.

Wine connoisseurs will love the Kanu Limited Release label. Kobus Kanu is the friendly host who will welcome you and help you when you reach the tasting room. He enhances the tasting experience and adds to a great atmosphere. When the chilly winter afternoons come around, find a spot in the couch corner beside the fire. The tasting room has a relaxed feel and has that ‘have to return’ feeling. You can taste and buy Mulderbosch wines here.

The Kanu Semi sweet white has good weight and a dry finish. It has peach aromas and goes incredibly well with homemade apple pie, spiced lamb or a slice of meat terrine with chutney.
