The sports facilities on Thesens include

• Two all-weather tennis courts, which have been sunken below ground level to give the players some protection from the wind. These courts are floodlit at night so that, on warm, clear summer evenings, players can continue with their game unhindered by the appearance of the moon.

• A squash court, complete with viewing deck and changing facilities. This court is indoors, next to the tennis courts.

• A putting green with 18 holes and a par 3 rating. This is located behind the park, with views of Knysna and the lagoon that make it even more scenic and special.

• Permanent volley ball posts on the private beach, inviting bathers to make the most of the excellent weather conditions of the Western Cape and enjoy a game with friends on the soft sand.

• Cricket practice nets.

Because the islands themselves are so beautiful, folks love speed-walking, jogging or cycling around the neighbourhood. There is also a path along part of the perimeter, showcasing the protected marshlands and giving walkers a spectacular place in which to work up a sweat.

In addition to these, there are a wide variety of water sports that those staying on the island can enjoy, thanks to the beaches, canals and communal moorings throughout. These include swimming, stand-up paddling, kayaking, and boating.
