Thesen Islands is the Garden Route’s solution to safe, luxurious living and tourist accommodation within beautiful surrounds. Every year, thousands of visitors from around the world stay at Thesen, making use of the world-class facilities and the gorgeous waterways that wind through the marina estate, on the doorstep of most of the homes.

Within the secure estate is the main park, complete with see-saws, jungle gyms with fireman’s poles and other obstacles, swings, slides, wooden horses, and an old boat that sparks even the most dormant of imaginations. Tables and chairs in the shade or sun are ideal for parents that want to be with their little ones and enjoy the scenery, but groups of children are often left to play at leisure, thanks to the safe conditions of the islands. The entire park is surrounded by colourful flower beds and there is a herb and vegetable garden adjacent to it.

The maze is another popular attraction for young and old alike on Thesen Islands. It is situated next to the park and offers an adventure for those that want to figure out how to get to the centre, and then out of the other side.

The dog park means that even furry children get the opportunity to enjoy the glorious outdoors while staying on the islands, and kids get to run around with their canine friends.

There is a main private beach as well as a few smaller ones (the number of which is depending on the tide). Here, kids can throw Frisbees and play ball games between swims in the refreshing lagoon waters.

At Thesen Harbour Town, many of the restaurants face another play area. This is equipped with swings, an obstacle course-style jungle gym, roundabout, see-saw, and more. It has the added benefit of providing a great place for children to play and meet one another while parents look on, sipping on a cold Chardonnay or a hot coffee and enjoying fabulous food.
