About St Blaize Hiking Trail

The Garden Route, specifically the area around Mossel Bay, is home to the breath-taking vistas offered by the St. Blaize Hiking Trail. This trail begins at the cave just below the St. Blaize Lighthouse and extends for 13.5 kilometres, until hikers reach Dana Bay (or vice versa).

This hike takes about six hours to complete and is moderately challenging. Hikers are required to have some degree of fitness, and it is not recommended for families with children, or for the elderly.

Along the trail, the sea views are most striking. Mile after pristine mile is showcased, with the glitter of the sunlight on its shimmering surface. Dolphins frequently perform for hikers, and bird-watchers are well rewarded. There are many different fynbos varieties along the way.

No one should embark on the trail alone.

The start of the St. Blaize Hiking trail is at The Point Hotel and will lead you on the 30m contour path, 15km to Dana Bay. Panoramic sea views with a constant view of waves breaking on the rocks will accompany you on your five hour walk.
