Feeling fit, energetic, enthusiastic and full of adventure? Great then get down to the Outeniqua Nature Reserve office which you will find at Witfontein near George, grab a permit and join the Cradock Peak trail.

This difficult trail is not for the faint hearted and should not be attempted by children or those who are not reasonably fit.

The trail is approximately 20km long and will take an physically fit, experienced hiker around seven hours to complete. Cradock Peak stands at 1579 meters high and is the highest in the area with extraordinary views.

The trail can be steep, slippery and overgrown at parts and will challenge you all the way to the finish. Ensure you bring plenty of water, warm clothes and something windproof as even on a hot day the weather can get cold on the mountains.
