About Dragon Peaks Restaurant
Located in the mystical mountains of the Drakensberg, surrounded by a quiet lake, Dragon Peaks Restaurant can be found in a mountain resort and wedding venue. Hosted by Peter and Ady Small, Dragon's Rest, recently graded four stars by the Tourism Grading Council, is renowned for its warm ambiance and excellent à la carte menu. Peter, a Hotel School Graduate and Ady, a Cordon Bleu orchestrate a simply delicious dining experience.
On the menu, we find starters that entice from the buffet, including smoked trout, meze or chicken and mango salad. Mains on the buffet include roast pork with creamy mushroom and apple sauce; roast de-boned loin of lamb in mint and sherry sauce or chicken in Thai sesame sauce. Lamb shanks in honey sauce, oxtail in beer sauce, Mussimans lamb curry - there are so many delights! Save space for the impressive array of desserts, from meringue baskets filled with fruit, almond and honey tarts, hot malva pudding served with custard and the fruity phyllo delights.
Dragon Peaks borders the prestigious Drakensberg Ukahlamba National Heritage Park, renown for both its cultural and geographic significance. Located two and a half hours drive from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg, well within weekend distance from either.
