About Dana Bay Beach
Dana Bay is approximately 20 minutes from the centre of Mossel Bay, although it is not a part of Mossel Bay as some would think. The area is in fact a conservancy of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
Dana Bay beach stretches as far as the eye can see and during the whale season (August to October) you will delight in watching the whales play in the waves. The beach has a number of viewpoints which are ideal if you’d like to snap up a photograph or two of the whales.
This beach is also a great place to spot large schools of dolphins as one as large as 500 has been recorded in the area. A number of water sport activities can also be enjoyed including yachting, boating, jet skiing and more.
If you’d prefer to relax bring down a picnic basket and watch the sun go down in all its glory from the beach. There are ablution facilities at the beach and a few restaurants in town.
