About Restaurant @ Glen Carlou
Open since 1997, Glen Carlouhas enjoyed its status as one of the most popular and upmarket restaurants in the Paarl Winelands, owing to a constantly innovative menu based on seasonal ingredients. Start with a masterpiece, such as the Fig and Ham salad, with roasted purple figs, Parma ham and Gorgonzola crumble; or pan-friend duck liver pate.
For mains, the pork belly come highly recommended; the sirloin is served with port-braised pearl onions, potato and camembert cake; and the Venison Loin, made with pomegranate jus, pureed squash and bacon panna cotta is the absolute piece de resistance.
The dessert menu is sublime, with seductive sweet treats such as the Cinnamon Meringue, with lemon Chantilly and poached peaches, or the Thyme and Gorgonzola mousse.
