About Eastgate Airport
Hoedspruit is a stunning area in Limpopo Province and is home to the charming little airport that is now called Eastgate Airport (also known as Hoedspruit Airport). This is a fantastic amenity for visitors that have booked experiences and accommodation in Kruger National Park and that need to fly in from Cape Town or Johannesburg. Every month, this airport sees around 7 000 passengers and offers 150 flights.

Significantly, Hoedspruit Airport is home to one of the longest runways in the country, at an impressive 3.7 kilometres. The other runway here is 2.1 kilometres. It was revamped and upgraded during the COVID lockdown of 2020 and 2021 and now boasts a spruced-up entrance, boarding area, departure lounge, parking area, and check-in counters. Still, it’s retained its charm and intimate feel.
