The electric bike tours with E-lectric Ventures promise an unforgettable way to experience the Winelands of the Western Cape with the fresh air on your face, the wind in your hair, and the sunshine on your back. Thanks to the electric motor, these bikes require very little effort, unless riders would prefer to gear down and put some work into the cycle.

The Winelands tour starts at about 09h00, when visitors will be collected from their guesthouse and transported in a comfy, air-conditioned bus to the historical town of Stellenbosch. This is South Africa’s second-oldest town and is known for its university, oak-lined streets, and magnificent wine farms. In fact, these farms produce some of the best and most loved wines in the world. To get the most out of Stellenbosch, the group will hop off their bikes and meander the streets on foot for a while.

From here, the ride continues south to the Waterford Wine Estate, where an indulgent wine and chocolate pairing will be enjoyed. This estate is perched at the head of the Blaauwklippen Valley, from where the views are breath-taking. Then, we head to the old Rust en Vrede Estate for another wine-tasting, followed by a delicious lunch (designed to be enjoyed with the wines, and celebrating the utmost in simplicity).

Once we’ve eaten, we will let the bikes do the work as we climb the hill to world-renowned golfer, Ernie Els’, estate. The views from here are spectacular, and the award-winning wines impressive. From here, the bus will collect us and take us back to our accommodation. The tour ends at about 16h30.

This tour includes collection and drop-off, as well as gear, snacks and bottled water. Photographs of your adventure can be arranged too. No lunch is included in the package, so remember to bring a bite or some money along, as well as plenty of sunscreen. The tour is for riders older than 12 years.
