About Lievland Wine Estate
Lievland is a family-run wine estate which dates back to 1715. The cellar was built in 1823 and the Cape Dutch house in 1828, both of which are still utilised on the estate today. It’s an estate that offers the perfect space for any occasion ranging from weddings to picnics, al fresco dinners, wine tastings and live music. You could spot sheep and cattle grazing on the field beside the dam.
The estate boasts an underground maturation cellar with a capacity of 300 tonnes and a private vinoteque with capacity for 9 000 bottles. Lievlander 2008 is a dry red blend of Cabernet Merlot, Petit Verdot and Shiraz produced from the estate’s best cultivars.
This is a sophisticated wine with berry, cherry and spicy flavours. Limited Edition Special Late Harvest has floral overtones and smooth palate. The Lievland Sauvignon Blanc 2011 has apples and tropical fruits on the nose and is best served with a hot summer’s lunch.
Pop into the contemporary wine tasting room which can accommodate up to 100 standing. Relax on the patio and keep warm beside the large fireplace. Stay over at the Manor House B&B for a night of old world comfort and charm. Sleep in large antique four poster beds and take a boat out on the dam or destress with a game of tennis.
