About Keermont Vineyards

Jan Jac van Dyk owned most of the land in the Blaauwklippen Valley in 1694. He was one of the first Europeans to recognise the potential of this land. He sold separate parts of the land and Keermont makes up two of these farms. When Graham Bbonzaier bought the land and renamed it Fleurfontein it was filled with fruit orchards and king proteas.

The current owners, Mark and Monica Wraith bought the farm when they moved to the Western Cape and replanted vineyards throughout the farm. They also converted the spring water bottling plant into a winery with barrel rooms, a tasting room and offices.

The following grape varieties have been planted: Reds-Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Mouvedre, Petit Verdot and Malbec. White varieties include Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier.

You can find the following ranges in production The Keermont (flagship red blend), the Syrah, the Terrasse (barrel fermented white blend) and the Fleurfontein (dessert wine). The fine wine produced is thanks to winemaker, Alex Starey. Minimal fertilizers and pesticides are used as they want the wine-making process to be as natural as possible.
