About Aegir Project Brewery

After having brewed in a number of places around the world, Rory Lancellas settled in Noordhoek and opened the Aegir Project Brewery in 2015. Since then, it has grown and evolved into a viable hotspot for beer-lovers and visitors looking for a crisp, refreshing drink on a hot Cape Town day. The focus at Aegir is on honest, authentic beers; made using the best ingredients.

Today, there are a number of beers on the Aegir menu. These include:

Extra Pale Uil
This light pale ale is underscored by a bouquet of guava and passion fruit, and has light malty characters. It is crisp, clean and refreshing.

California Steamin’
The combination of a hoppy and a light lager makes this an excellent choice for easy drinking. The undertones of caramel and toast with a slight hint of mint on the nose means that the California Steamin’ is lovely for beginners and connoisseurs alike.

Red Rye
The smell of toffee and spices and the flavours of fruity caramel and white pepper set this rye beer apart from its peers. It is complex for its extra malt and hops, and definitely one to try.

Giant IPA
A genuine Indian Pale Ale, this beer combines the moreish flavours of tangerine, marmalade, candied oranges and biscuit malts. There is a little woody character on the nose too. The unique and irresistible flavours are achieved by adding loads of malt to the mix, which pays off tremendously.

Midnight Porter
Plum, chocolate and roasted coffee beans are part of what makes this so delicious. This is a definite full-body beer - creamy and dark.

Those who love tasting and testing various beers are spoilt for choice at the Aegir Project. Noordhoek is a surfing hotspot too, and a beer tasting is the perfect way to finish a hot session on the water.
