About Café Roux
Casual chic, Café Roux is a farmstyle kitchen restaurant of the Le Roux family who celebrate the simple pleasures of life in an unfussy, pretty setting with culinary style. Sit outside under sky and oversized khaki umbrellas, nestled between shore and mountain in a village environment with quality wholesome food, decadent desserts, well priced Cape wine and barrista coffees.
Housed in the original Weltevreden Farmhouse a chalkboard menu brings local Cape Point vines to table with hearty meals, some seasonally organic. Local fresh ingredients and love go into every sauce, relish, mayonnaise, chutney and dressing bringing delicious home-made flavours to every South African mouthful.
Karoo cooking secrets meet contemporary combinations for adventurous palates while kiddies delight in their favourite bites. Read the newspaper in the sunshine on wooden tables with green chairs to match the Oak Tree encircled atmosphere, or let the dog laze on the lawn while you chat with friends, giggling in the indoor upmarket barn décor.
Family friendly and relaxing with fresh baked service and a private playground supplied with toys for barefoot kiddies supervised by a resident child minder. Live music, some days; big-screen rugby and beer some days; unpretentious charming Cape country everyday.
